James Ridge, O.D.

Dr. James Ridge hails from the Philadelphia, PA area, where he met his wife of 38 years Diane. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture, with a minor in Football. After a four and a half year stint as a research assistant for a large industrial chemical company and a year in the Microbiology Department at OSU, he returned to graduate studies. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Ferris State University, College of Optometry in 1993, following internships in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the State University of New York, Specialty Practice at Ferris State, and Hospital-based Practice at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. A highlight was an opportunity to participate in mission work, providing eye care to small, rural communities around San Carlos, Mexico. Throughout his career, Dr. Ridge has sought to provide compassionate eye care to all people, in diverse practices such as pediatrics, primary care, nursing-home care, and hospital-based and medical-based Ophthalmology practices. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Association and the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. Joining the family and patient oriented team at Spectrum Eye Care has been a welcomed extension of these experiences.

Dr. Ridge currently resides in Delaware, OH with Diane and their cats Florence and Peaches. They have two adult daughters; Laurel, who lives with them and Shannon, who is married to Michael and lives in Dublin, OH. He enjoys being active in his church, hiking and camping, cycling, weight training, gardening, visiting family and following the Buckeyes. He also hopes to get more involved in missions in the near future.
