Dr. Hoying is originally from West Union, Ohio. She attended Shawnee State University where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-Medicine and a minor in Chemistry in 2001. She then attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2006.
Dr. Hoying enjoys the medical aspect of optometry such as diabetic and hypertensive eye disease, macular degeneration, and dry eye, which allows her to partner with patients to both manage and educate them on how they can keep their vision and eyes healthy. She enjoys explaining the complex nature of eye disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in an easily understood manner.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, loves traveling, cooking, and exploring new restaurants. She has traveled to Nicaragua on a medical mission trip and hopes to be able to do more in the future.
